Red Tree Builders-Alair Asheville: A Year in Review  

As we close out an incredible year at Red Tree Builders-Alair Asheville, we’re reflecting on a journey marked by growth, innovation, and meaningful connections. From completing six remarkable homes to earning prestigious industry accolades, 2024 was a year to remember.   

This year saw us officially move into our new offices on Merrimon Avenue. What was once a condemned building has been completely revitalized into a high-functioning, beautiful space. Beyond being our headquarters, this transformation showcases the commercial work we offer, combining sustainable practices and design excellence to breathe new life into existing structures. 

Embracing Innovation at the International Builders Show 

In February, our team traveled to Las Vegas to attend the 2024 International Builders Show (IBS), a global showcase of cutting-edge trends in construction and design. Owner Brandon, Project Managers Kevin and Taylor, Lead Interior Designer Gina, and Operations Manager Ashley immersed themselves in a world of innovation, bringing back ideas and products that are reshaping the way we build and live. 

These insights continue to influence our projects, ensuring we remain at the forefront of modern, sustainable living. 

Award-Winning Excellence 

While in Las Vegas for the International Builders Show, we proudly accepted the Best in American Living (BALA) Award in the One-of-a-Kind Custom Home category for our project, Wandering Oak. 

Red Tree Builders’ president, Brandon Bryant, was honored with the Mental Health Advocacy Award at IBS. This accolade recognizes our commitment to fostering a culture of wellness and safety across our team and partnerships. Brandon also secured a spot on Fixr.com's 100 Top Home Building Experts for 2024, a testament to his leadership and impact in sustainable homebuilding. 

October marked a significant achievement as Red Tree Builders won the prestigious Department of Energy (DOE) Innovation Award for the fourth consecutive year. The award-winning Westridge Farm Retreat, a 2,603 sq. ft. all-electric home in the Olivette Community, exemplifies innovation and sustainability. 

In September, Red Tree Builders was honored with the Best of Asheville recognition, a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team, clients, and community. The honor is voted on by our community to spotlight the region's top businesses and services. This recognition is a testament to the trust and support of those we serve. 

Our team’s leadership continues to shine. Brandon completed his term on the North Carolina Home Builders Association Board, furthering advocacy for sustainable and innovative building practices. Ashley was celebrated as one of ProBuilder's Forty Under 40, a prestigious recognition of rising leaders in the industry. 

We were honored in November when Red Tree Builders – Alair Asheville earned three NC Star Awards for excellence in high-performance and green building. These awards recognized our dedication to sustainability and innovation in three categories: Best Green Single Family Home, Best Sustainable Project, and Best Green Home Feature. These accolades highlight our unwavering commitment to designing and constructing homes and spaces that are as environmentally responsible as they are stunning. 

At the heart of our success are our clients. We prioritize "unreasonable hospitality," ensuring every interaction is filled with care, attention to detail, and a sense of partnership. Whether it’s designing a forever home or navigating a renovation, we strive to make the journey as remarkable as the result. 

A Transformative Partnership with Alair Homes 

In June, we officially announced a pivotal new chapter for Red Tree Builders by joining forces with Alair Homes, the largest premium custom home building network in North America. This partnership allows us to scale sustainably while maintaining our commitment to quality, client focus, and the values that define us.  

We celebrated this exciting venture with a launch party at The Radical in Asheville’s River Arts District. The event raised over $14,500 for All Souls Counseling Center, a nonprofit dedicated to providing mental health services to those in need. This evening was a perfect reflection of our commitment to community and creativity. 

Building Together and Giving Back 

Our dedication to community extends beyond our homes. This year, our team supported recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene, showcasing our belief in building stronger, more resilient communities.  

In the aftermath, Red Tree Builders demonstrated their unwavering commitment to their community. The company extended support to affected individuals, prioritizing past and current clients for restoration services while launching Red Tree Bridge Builders to offer assessments, repair services, and bridge construction. This expansion underscores their mission to build a stronger, more resilient community. 

We were also honored to be featured in Custom Builder Online magazine. The interview highlighted our response to Hurricane Helene, including our focus on mental health within the company and our efforts to rebuild the region with care and intentionality. 

Education and Growth 

In March, Brandon, Taylor, and Ryan attended Alair’s Carolinas Regional Session in Charleston, exploring best processes and practices alongside industry peers. These sessions reinforce our commitment to continuous learning and innovation, enabling us to bring fresh ideas to every project. In June, Red Tree Builders-Alair Asheville proudly hosted the regional event in Asheville, fostering collaboration and shared growth within the industry. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible vendors who made the event possible: LG Pro Builder, Azek Exteriors, Timber Tech, DuPont Tyvek, Parksite, Andersen Windows & Doors, Huber Engineered Woods, Sugar Hollow Solar, Nichiha, Cambria, and Responsive Living. 

The year also highlighted valuable collaborations and partnerships. In September, Red Tree Builders featured in Nichiha’s "A-ha Moment" collaboration, showcasing the durability and style of Nichiha’s fiber cement siding across several of our completed projects, including the newly renovated office along Merrimon Avenue.  

Earlier in the year, Andersen Windows and ProBuilder hosted Operations Manager Ashley and Project Managers Ryan and Kevin for a three-day product education event in California, while LG invited Owner Brandon and Lead Interior Designer Gina to Napa in November to explore their latest technologies.  

These partnerships reflect the company’s dedication to staying at the forefront of innovation and excellence in homebuilding.

Looking Ahead 

From celebrating these accomplishments to laying the foundation for what’s to come, we’re grateful to our team, clients, and community for making this year unforgettable. Here’s to continuing to innovate, collaborate, and lead with heart in 2025. 

Throughout the year, Red Tree Builders celebrated their team’s contributions and fostered camaraderie. The early company Christmas party in December brought together team members and their families, reinforcing the strong sense of community within the organization. Despite the challenges faced in 2024, Red Tree Builders remained steadfast in their mission to create homes that inspire, innovate, and endure, while contributing positively to the lives of their clients and the broader community. 

As we reflect on the milestones of 2024, we’re inspired to keep pushing boundaries in 2025. With new projects on the horizon and the strength of our partnership with Alair Homes, the future is brighter than ever. Together, we’re redefining what it means to build beautiful, sustainable homes while fostering a legacy of innovation and community impact.
